Manukau Urban Maori Authority are currently recruiting for an Employment Service Manager to join their team.
The primary purpose of this position is to lead, coordinate, and manage the operations and strategy of MUMA Mahi Employment Services. The Employment Service Manager will oversee three key workstreams- Pathways to Work, Community Engagement, and Pastoral Care. This role ensures seamless service delivery, builds strong stakeholder relationships, and supports clients in achieving sustainable employment outcomes.
Core objectives include but are not limited to:
- Operational Leadership: Oversee daily operations of MUMA Mahi, ensuring efficient and high-quality service delivery across all workstreams.
- Programme Development: Support the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of MUMA Mahi initiatives in line with organisational goals.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with employers, community partners, and stakeholders to create employment pathways for clients.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate with MUMA’s internal services to ensure seamless transitions for clients through various stages of MUMA Mahi.
- Marketing and Communications: Develop and manage marketing strategies to enhance visibility and engagement for MUMA Mahi.
- Relationship Management: Act as the primary contact for internal and external stakeholders, including MUMA’s Leadership.
- Event Management: Organise job fairs, community outreach, and other events that align with programme objectives.
- Performance Reporting: Track, evaluate, and report on programme outcomes to showcase success and identify areas for improvement.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure all programme activities meet contractual requirements and adhere to MUMA’s high standards of service delivery.
- Additional Support: Assist the MUMA Whanau Services Leadership Team with tasks related to MUMA Mahi service delivery as needed.
- Operate within a kaupapa Maori framework, embracing tikanga and te reo Maori practices.
- Fulfil other duties as required by Leadership and other departmental personnel.
- Supporting the values of our marae, hapu and Iwi.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in employment services, business development, HR, or related fields.
- Experience in job placement, recruitment, career counselling, or business development (preferred but not required).
- Interpersonal Skills: strong communication and relationship management skills across diverse audiences.
- Organisational Skills: ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Team Leadership: experience in leading and managing diverse teams effectively.
- Strategic Thinking: ability to develop and execute long-term plans.
- Strong leadership and operational management skills.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strategic relationships.
