Canopy Maintenance Workers in Te Puke
About this job
Duties are as follows: *Construct, erect, install and repair orchard structures by carrying out work on work sites and safely using materials required on sites. *Install frost protection netting and artificial shelters (wind breaks) *Pruning the old vines. *Assist in Installing agbeam, canopy wires and strainer wire. *Measure, cut and lay out metal wiring, rods and posts. *Bend and lay out wiring rods and mesh and set up posts as per specifications. *Use hand and power tools to perform daily activities. *Check equipment, stock, and gears. *Put up appropriate signage around any work being carried out *Open and Close the gates to the fields. *Operate tractors and other machinery and equipment. *Sweep and pick up debris daily. *Segregate items that can be recycled and composted and have ready for daily collection *Throw all the non-recyclable or no-compostable items in the trash. *Hose, wash, and clean spaces used for recycling *Be available to work in other orchards when needed

Job Requirements
*Must have at least 3 years’ relevant experience working in an orchard, building, construction, horticulture, farming, or agricultural industries. *Preferably have Level 2 to 4 or above relevant qualifications in horticulture, building, construction, farming, or agricultural industries. *Must have a Class 1 License. *Must pass a Pre-employment Drug test and Ministry of Justice check.

- Monday to Sunday - 8.00am to 6.00pm (work is weather dependant) (30 hours per week)
