Indian Cook & Sweet Maker - Kerikeri

Looking for two experienced cooks for busy local restaurant. You should be competent in carrying out the following tasks: • Preparing and/or offering input into menu planning when required taking into account food and labour costs to input into pricing • Preparing, seasoning, and portioning the dishes that clients order, including taking into account any special dietary requirements. • Ensuring food preparation standards are met, including cooking and storing food at the correct temperatures • Ensuring that ingredients used in the cooking are of acceptable standard • Assisting with estimating food requirements for ordering stock when required and advising on meal costs • Complying with all health and safety standards • Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen • Familiarity with the requirements of a kitchen and cooking equipment • Training and discussing with kitchen, front of house staff and management on all aspects under your supervision including food preparation, health and safety and kitchen administration • Communicate with management regarding issues to resolve, system and schedules

You should have a cooking qualification and/or at least 3 years’ experience cooking a variety of Indian curry and Tandoori Cuisine as well as sweets . Preference for NZ resident/citizen who can join and start immediately.
