Thames based employer is seeking a Activities Assistant. The Activities Assistant supports the Activities Co-ordinator in planning, implementing, and delivering a variety of group and individual activities tailored to the needs, preferences, and abilities of residents. The role helps create a homelike, engaging environment and promotes a positive, collaborative team approach within the care home.
Key Responsibilities:
• Activity Planning & Implementation: The Activities Assistant assists in designing and delivering a diverse programme of activities, ensuring they are appropriate for each resident’s individual needs. They contribute to the planning of activities one month in advance and help maintain necessary resources and equipment.
• Resident Engagement: The Activities Assistant actively engages with residents, encouraging participation in both group and individual activities. They document residents' involvement and report any changes in their condition or needs, contributing to the ongoing review of individual activity plans.
• Respect & Dignity: The Activities Assistant ensures that residents are treated with respect, dignity, and cultural sensitivity at all times, maintaining confidentiality and privacy in all interactions.
• Team Collaboration: The Activities Assistant participates in team meetings and works closely with colleagues, the Activities Co-ordinator, and other care home staff. They assist in supporting volunteers and external organisations involved in activities.
• Health & Safety: The Activities Assistant adheres to all health, safety, and infection control procedures. They actively participate in hazard identification and work to maintain a safe environment for residents and staff, in line with Bupa's policies.
• Training & Development: The Activities Assistant engages in continuous learning through compulsory education sessions, supervision, and performance reviews. They are required to complete competency assessments as necessary.

Job Requirements
Requirements:
• Previous experience in a similar role is desirable (0-1 years) • Flexible on work experience for someone with the right attitude and commitment to the role • Secondary school education is preferred. • Basic knowledge of MS Office is required. • Vocational training (e.g., Diversional Therapy Certificate) is an advantage. • Physical capability to perform activities that involve bending, lifting, and moving. • Must pass a drug and police check • Must have a Full Class 1 driver licence
- Days of work
- 10:00am to 4:30pm, in a roster of working 4 days on, 3 days off, including some weekends. (24 hours per week)
