Boysenberry Harvester Driver

Boysenberry Harvesting Machine Operator - much like a vineyard Gondola. A Hope based employer is looking for a Boysenberry Harvester Driver. You will need to be available from mid-December until mid-January - Xmas and New Year's inclusive. Hours are early starts at 4:30am to pick fruit at it's peak and out of the heat of the day so you will need transport. You will play a vital role in our harvest process, ensuring that our high-quality berries are carefully and efficiently harvested, while operating advanced machinery in a safe and effective manner.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate the boysenberry harvester machine to efficiently collect berries. Maintain and monitor machinery to ensure smooth operation and prevent any malfunctions. Work closely with farm supervisors and crew to ensure quality standards are met. Ensure harvested fruit is properly handled and transported to storage or processing areas. Adhere to safety regulations and best practices while operating heavy machinery. Perform routine maintenance checks and minor repairs on the harvester as required. Contribute to a positive team environment and work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.

Proven experience operating farm machinery, preferably harvesters or similar equipment. Truck Driving experience will be considered. Knowledge of safe machinery operation and general maintenance practices. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and handle physical work. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality results. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. A valid driver’s license is required. Additional certifications for machinery operation are a plus. Previous experience in berry harvesting is desirable but not essential.
