Dairy Farm Assistant

Dairy Farm Assistant Required. Are you able to assist with : Milking, identifying mastitis or other illness, feed out with machinery, set up temporary electric fences, assist with farm machinery driving and maintenance, water and irrigation supply repair and maintenance, and with making supplements . General farm maintenance of repairing fences, spraying weeds cleaning the milking machine and maintaining the hygiene standards in the dairy shed .

Assist with Calving duties picking up new born calves collection and feeding of colostrum are all the skills required for the successful candidate for this role in the Kaipara. 400 cows 36 Aside herringbone. 2 bedroom cottage shared accommodation. Every 2nd weekend off

Must be able to Drive a Manual Motorbike quad and Tractor pas a Drug and MOJ Test. Able to preform basic on farm duties such as milking, and assisting with identifying sickness in dairy cattle while milking-feeding out supplements to the cows with the tractor and trailer-grazing and pasture management, by setting up electric temporary fences, taking them down, checking for power faults in electric fences-assisting with farm equipment maintenance-driving tractors and farm equipment-assisting with making silage-assisting with general farm work including repairing fences, spraying weeds, replacing fences insulators, gates handle-assisting with maintenance of the water supply system-shifting irrigation and irrigation system maintenance-cleaning the milking machine, maintaining the hygiene of the dairy shed-assisting with collecting the colostrum from the freshly calved cows and feeding it to the newly born calves-assisting with the operation of picking up new born calves from the paddock and bring them to the appropriate sheds-undertaking general farm duties, as required by the employer.
