Chef de Partie

A family-owned cafe located in Blenheim, in the heart of Marlborough wine country is looking for a Chef de Partie. They pride themselves on friendly service and locally sourced ingredients, fair trade organic tea and coffee. You will be supporting the day-to-day operation of the kitchen through food preparation and production, maintaining orderliness of food supplies and equipment, sanitation control and kitchen equipment maintenance. Ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen whilst ensuring the profitable running of the department. Preparation of menu items following recipes taste testing and evaluating food before service. Ensure the use of high-quality ingredients and ensure business and safety standards are followed. Stock management and ordering, maintenance of food and equipment inventories. Pay rate will range from $25-$30 per hour depending on all that you bring to the role.

You will need at least 3 years’ experience working in a commercial kitchen. • National Certificate in Cookery (a bonus!) • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and costs • A passion for hospitality • Willingness and desire to work as part of a busy team.
