Yard Maintenance Technician

In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the depot yard, with a strong focus on mechanical tasks. You will manage the upkeep of equipment and supplies, assist with tank destruction activities, and support general maintenance tasks around the depot. Other duties include: - Ensuring a safe and tidy depot site while effectively managing storage - Maintaining stock levels - Overseeing the disposal of old equipment, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Your mechanical skills will be essential as you assists with: - Yard maintenance tasks, such as performing minor repairs and servicing equipment - Coordinate with contractors during tank destruction and provide support for various mechanical service tasks as needed.
Job Requirements
Candidates should possess mechanical skills or relevant experience in a similar role, along with a strong capacity for teamwork and effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders. Attention to detail is crucial, with an emphasis on safety and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a proactive, can-do attitude, capable of taking initiative and working independently when necessary. Physical fitness is essential, with no back issues, and a willingness to engage in a variety of hands-on tasks. A forklift licence is desirable and considered an advantage, while a Full Drivers' Licence with no demerits is mandatory. Applicants must submit a current CV accompanied by at least two work references. Candidates will be required to complete a pre-employment medical as part of the recruitment process, including drug testing. Convictions considered on a case-by-case basis.
