Matamata based employer seeking a motivated and experienced Gardener Team Leader to manage their gardening team. Key Responsibilities: • Team Leadership: Lead an experienced team to deliver exceptional service, ensuring expertise and consistency in the gardens and grounds under your care. • Planning and Coordination: Plan and coordinate regular and seasonal gardening, turf, and grounds activities to maintain aesthetic and functional outdoor spaces. • Client Communication: Communicate directly with clients to understand their needs, provide updates, and address any inquiries or concerns. • Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure that health and safety policies are maintained on-site, fostering a safe working environment for all team members. • General Gardening Duties: Perform general gardening and grounds care, including weeding, planting, mowing, edging, clearing litter and debris from hard surfaces, irrigation installation and repairs, hedge trimming, and minor amenity tree maintenance. • Pest and Disease Management: Collaborate with the team to monitor and treat pests, diseases, and plant health using environmentally sustainable methods and products. • Supply Management: Order essential materials and team supplies to ensure the smooth operation of gardening activities. • Uphold Company Values: Consistently uphold and promote the company’s core values in all interactions and activities.

Job Requirements

• At least 3 years of proven leadership experience in gardening or landscape maintenance. • A broad range of gardening skills and experience, with relevant qualifications preferred. • Excellent communication skills for effective team management and client relations. • Ability and willingness to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment. • Positive, proactive, and hardworking attitude. • Full, clean NZ driver’s license. • Computer literate, with experience working from phones and tablets (iPad). • Grow-safe and First Aid certificates are highly regarded, but we are happy to upskill the right candidate. • Must be able to pass a police check and drug test.
