Maintenance Engineer

We are looking for a motivated and skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team in South Otago and take on responsibility for the hands-on day to day maintenance of the plant within strong mechanical engineering team. Job responsibilities but not limited to Undertake mechanical repairs and maintenance to plant equipment to minimise equipment failure. Ensure any breakdowns in equipment or process is back to full production capacity within the shortest time, whilst always ensuring yours and others health and safety. Encourage a health and safety focussed culture through personal participation in H&S initiatives. Food hygiene regulations are complied with when working in areas controlled by MPI regulations. The successful applicant will possess the following skills and attributes: Relevant Trades Qualification (Level 4 Mechanical Diagnostics , Fitter/Turner , Fitter/Welder OR L4 Automotive Engineer, Time spent LV/ HD Mechanic) Good knowledge of sound engineering principals and repairs and maintenance procedures on a large industrial processing site - or a passion to learn in this environment. Ability to analyse problems and implement effective solutions in a timely manner and communicate this with those around you. Be self-motivated and capable of working both independently and within a tight knit team of engineering support. Organised, with the ability to plan and prioritise workload in a challenging engineering environment and lead by example from the front. Desire to keep learning and upskill - be this in a leadership scope or dual trading in to electrical - refrigeration or even project design.
