Glendene based employer is on the hunt for a Kitchenhand/Dishwasher team member. Roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Collect used kitchenware from dining and kitchen areas - Cleaning kitchens, food preparation areas and sculleries (including kitchen surfaces, floors and equipment) - Remove garbage regularly Sanitize the kitchen area, cleaning cooking and general utensils used in kitchens and restaurants - Transferring, weighing and checking supplies and equipment - Maintain cleaning supplies stock (e.g. detergents) and place orders when necessary - Assembling and preparing ingredients for cooking -Packing food and beverage trays for serving - Toasting and heating simple food items and any other duty that may be assigned by the duty manager or chef or cook. - Assist kitchen and service staff in preparing and serving food, and clean food preparation and service areas. - Knowledge in Indian cuisine/food is preferable - Health and safety knowledge Ready to apply? Job Requirements
This role will require applicants to have knowledge of authentic Indian cuisine. There is no requirement of work experience or qualification; we provide basic training when you start the job. You should have positive attitude and be able to work well under pressure (restaurant is extremely busy). You should also have good interpersonal skills in order to coordinate duties in the kitchen - Knowledge of cleaning methods and chemicals; kitchen safety and food hygiene; preparing food and using kitchen equipment; and most importantly the preparation and cooking skills for Indian-styled cuisine
