The School of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (NZSATCM) offers Bachelor's and graduate programs in acupuncture and related fields, combining theory, practical training, and supervised clinical experience. They are looking for someone to teach Western medicine while maintaining professionalism and adaptability. The position allows for flexible work-from-home options to support work-life balance. Successful candidates will have: Skills and Competencies • Subject Specialty • Practice advanced standing in discipline/subject • Use substantial applied knowledge and practical skills in their role Learning Design, Teaching, and Assessment • Plan, implement, and evaluate courses/programs for assessing learners' learning • Select and apply strategies to enable learners to develop as independent learners • Responsible for the development and application of learning, assessment, and program design • Practice within policy framework, applicable professional codes, and legislative obligations Contribution to Team Capability • Reflect on own teaching practice to identify direction and strategies for development • Act as a positive role model among colleagues Teamwork and Relationship Management • Take responsibility for the effective outcomes of their own work in teams • Maintain and continue to develop expertise in applied research relevant to the discipline, subject, or teaching area • Meet expected staff research outputs Cultural Competence • Demonstrate knowledge and commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi • Demonstrate knowledge and commitment to diversity and equity awareness issues
Job Requirements
• Qualifications and Experience • Must have qualification in Western Medicine. • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience western medicine. • Two years of online teaching experience using platforms like Moodle, Zoom, Teams, or Google Classroom • Adult and tertiary teaching qualification – is an added advantage. • Demonstrated experience in academic research.
