Aged Carer

Te Awamutu based employer is on the hunt for a skilled Aged carer to join their team. Your duties will include:

To maintain the comfort and safety of the residents, caring for them with dignity and compassion and ensuring privacy at all times. - Ensure the home is warm - Treat every resident with dignity and provide privacy for the resident for all activities. - Take time to talk and listen to the resident’s -give them time to express themselves. - Be familiar with the fire safety and civil defense policies. - Be familiar with all policies used within the Home for maintaining resident comfort and safety. - Follow the cleaning programme.

Ensure the residents meet their activities of daily living: - Includes showering, bathing, toileting, making beds, teeth cleaning and shaving, dressing and undressing. - Allow for and encourage independence in all activities. - Follow instructions as per the residents individual lifestyle plan. - Issue medication as per the medication policy of the Home.

Assist with meals: Ensure the residents are assisted to the dining room or in their room in time for meals. - Provide clothes protectors to all residents who require them. - Meat is cut up as required. - Serviettes are made available. - Assist with feeding as necessary.

Maintain the communal environment, residents' rooms and residents' personal belongings and clothing are neat and clean. - Carry out delegated tasks for which you feel competent, having received instruction and supervision for these previously. - Maintain tidiness and cleanliness within the Home including the resident’s rooms, bathrooms and toilets. - Follow the laundry policy for maintaining the residents clothing. - Follow the bedroom cleaning procedure.
