About this job

As a StudyLink Officer, you will be at the forefront of delivering essential face-to-face services, providing students with information, advice, and support on their study options and entitlements. You will guide them through their application process and assist with interviews for special or extra help applications. This role involves responding to enquiries through email, phone, and in-person interactions, ensuring appropriate outcomes that meet the needs of our clients. You will represent StudyLink at expos, career events, and other outreach activities, promoting our services and connecting with the wider community.

What you’ll bring:

You will need excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with people from diverse backgrounds. You should be comfortable navigating multiple systems and quickly learning new processes. Technological proficiency is essential to effectively deliver services in this role.

What you'll need to succeed: A passion for helping others with a strong client-focused approach Knowledge of the Tertiary Education Strategy A proven ability to build and maintain relationships with external partners Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to deliver presentations Applicants must be a New Zealand Citizen or have Permanent Residency at the time of application

Job Requirements

You will be based in New Plymouth however need to be flexible to travel across the region and work different locations. This will require you to have a full NZ drivers' licence.

You need to also be comfortable working in a fast paced, pressured environment and enjoy navigating through unexpected challenges.

You need to have strong facilitation, planning and organisational skills.

Strong relationship and negotiation skills are desired and the ability to motivate and empower others to overcome barriers in a non-judgmental way.
