Duties include: • Working with the care team to implement person-centred approaches tailored to support residents with complex needs. • Recognizing and responding to signs of vulnerability and abuse, ensuring the safety and dignity of residents. • Demonstrating ethical and professional behaviour in all interactions with residents and staff. • Observing and reporting any changes in residents’ conditions and vital signs, effectively communicating to support their health and well-being. • Performing entry-level person-centred tasks and functions in a health or well-being setting, under the direction and delegation of health professionals. • Recognizing and responding to changes in residents’ needs, adapting care approaches accordingly. • Providing person-centred support that encourages and maximizes residents’ independence. • Working within the responsibilities and boundaries of your role while upholding the facility's policies and philosophies. • Maintaining clear communication with residents and staff, fostering a supportive environment.

Job Requirements

• Previous experience in the health and disability sector is preferred however training will be provided to the successful candidates • Empathetic with genuine interest and passion to work in the healthcare industry • Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with residents and whanau/families. • Flexible schedule and available to work overnight shifts and weekends on a rostered basis, employer can guarantee 30 hours per week. In practice, full-time employees typically work between 35 and 40 hours per week. • Ability to comply with relevant policies related to punctuality, time records, sick call procedure, professional appearance, conduct, smoking and all house rules • Clean Ministry of Justice record and consent to a pre-employment police check • Able to pass a pre-employment drug test • Up-to-date CV with at least 2 contactable references, an application form must also be completed as part of the process • Due to the shift times and roster, having a full Class 1 driver licence with a reliable transport would be advantageous for candidates. However, any reliable means of transport is welcome as it is crucial for candidates to arrive at work on time.

Days of work
4 days on / 2 days off. Shift times: 8am-4pm, 4pm-12am or 12am-8am. You will be notified about your roster 2 weeks in advance. (30 hours per week)
