Christchurch City: We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our educational institution as a Quantity Surveying Tutor!

This role will mainly straddle the New Zealand Diploma in Construction (Quantity Surveying) Level 6. Ideally this individual would also do some teaching on the Construction (New Zealand Diploma in Construction (Construction Management) Level 6 as well, and will see the successful person join the current team delivering the both qualifications.

You will need a strong background in QS and have the ability to communicate effectively with both the institute's management and a diverse group of students, including international learners, and other key stakeholders.

The role could be part-time or full-time, depending on the skills and experience you bring to the table.

Quantity Surveying Tutor Key Responsibilities: • Teach assigned modules using an approved curriculum, ensuring alignment with course aims and learning outcomes. • Provide guidance and support to students, including academic and non-academic needs. • Engage with the management team to ensure the effective delivery of the course. • Communicate effectively with a diverse student population, including international students. • Develop lesson plans, study materials, and assessments. • Marking of student assessments within the required timeframes. • Maintain student records and monitor progress.

Job Requirements

• Degree qualified in QS or a related field. • At least 2 years of full-time work experience in Quantity Surveying. • Current registered Quantity Surveyor (NZIQS) or able to renew easily (assistance available for renewal). • Adult Education qualification. • Strong communication skills, especially in engaging with international students and institute management. • Familiarity with learning management systems (e.g., Moodle) and educational technology. • Certain Criminal conviction will be considering, depending on the nature of the offence and timeframes etc.
