We are looking for a motivated entry to intermediate level person with a background and/or passion for horticulture, who wants to learn and grow their career in the hop industry.

As a Hop Garden Assistant, you will play a key role in the cultivation and maintenance of the hop plants, contributing to the production of premium hops at Harvest. This position is a hands-on role, and requires an energetic, self-motivating person to ensure the plants and garden structures are maintained to a high standard, assist with irrigation and hop shed maintenance and play a crucial part in ensuring harvest runs successfully. What we need from you is: to take pride in your work, be reliable and flexible, and enjoy working with a committed group of people. Remuneration will be based on the level of experience you already have but will be competitive. Key Responsibilities: • Plant Care: Assist with planting, watering, and fertilizing hop plants, ensuring optimal growth conditions. • Garden Trellis: Maintain their structure for maximum yield and quality. • Soil and Pest Management: Monitor soil health and manage pests and diseases using integrated pest management techniques. • Weeding and Maintenance: Perform routine weeding, mulching, and maintenance of garden beds to support healthy hop growth. • Harvesting: Participate in the timely harvesting of hops, ensuring quality standards are met during collection and processing. • Record Keeping: Assist with detailed electronic record keeping • Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained, cleaned, and stored. • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the hop garden team to contribute to a positive and productive work environment.

Job Requirements

Qualifications: • Experience in a horticultural or similar industry would be advantageous but not essential. • An understanding of plant biology, soil management, and horticultural practices would be preferred but not essential. • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving. • Strong communication and teamwork skills. • Proficiency in using horticultural tools and equipment. • Relevant qualifications or certifications, preferred but not essential • Proficiency in using horticultural tools and equipment.

Days of work
Fulltime Role Days dependant on Weather and Plants 8-10 hour days. (30 hours per week)

Pay rate will be between $25.00 - $27.00/hour depending on experie
