Seasonal Vineyard Worker (Summer)

Summer work is available in the vineyards. Work is hands-on, a physical role involving all aspects of tending to viticulture crops and vineyard maintenance including planting, trellis construction and maintenance, irrigation installation and maintenance, rock picking, wire lifting, bud rubbing, fruit thinning, shoot thinning and harvest. Work will extend from early Nov 2024 – late April 2025. Pay rate $23.15 - $25.47 per hour equivalent (most tasks are piece-rate so earning potential may be higher for those that can work efficiently), commensurate to experience, plus 8% holiday pay (paid weekly). Transport is available from a central Blenheim location or Hortus office for $40 per week.
Job Requirements
A good level of fitness is required to be successful in this role. Not suitable for those with mobility issues or injuries that would prevent extensive walking up and down the vineyard, bending up and down at times to complete the task.
