Animal Management Officer

A south Auckland Employer is looking to hire an Animal Management Officer. The right candidate will work within the Dog Control Act 1996 and Council policies and procedures to respond to public complaints about dog and stock control; customer requests for services including managing aggressive and/or barking dogs, dog attacks, wandering dogs, stock issues; and providing requirements for proactive patrolling and assistance with prosecutions. You will also work in the community, often flying solo, tackling tasks with the support of a large team. You will also assist in prosecutions and intelligence lead proactive patrols. You will need to have the following: • National diploma in Animal Management / regulatory discipline or equivalent • National certificate in Regulatory Compliance (desirable) • minimum of 2 years' experience working in a compliance field • minimum of 1 year dog handling experience • A current, full clean NZ driver's licence is required.
