Traffic Management Operator - East Tamaki

We are seeking dedicated and reliable Traffic Management Operators (TMO-NP) to join our team in East Tamaki. This role requires flexibility, as you will be working shifts that could range from early mornings to late nights, depending on the roster provided by the transport manager. The role offers the potential to transition from a temporary to a permanent position after three months of proven reliability and performance.

Key Responsibilities: Morning Prep: Start your day at the Higgins yard in East Tamaki, helping load traffic trucks with materials for the day's work.

Site Setup: Travel with your team and supervisor (STMS) to the worksite. Once there, follow the STMS's instructions for setting up the site. You'll stay harnessed in the truck and pass cones to your teammate as the truck moves slowly.

Cone Placement: After 2 weeks of training, you'll place cones and signs yourself.

Stop-Go Operation: After the site is set up, you'll act as a stop-go operator, using a radio to communicate with your team about oncoming traffic and pedestrians.

Safety: You'll be working around contractors, Always be aware of potential hazards, especially out-of-control vehicles, and be ready to move to a safe spot quickly.

End of Shift: At the end of your shift, you'll usually pack up the site, load everything back onto the truck, and return to the yard. Sometimes unpacking won’t be needed.
