Head Timber Grader
About this job
The purpose of this role is to support our grading team and grade timber ready for market. This person will ideally have a strong background in timber grading and have the understandings of an acoustic grader.
Health and safety in the workplace is paramount, so someone with experience in identifying hazards and reporting incidents, and used to making sound suggestions about continuous improvement.
With a good work ethic and experience behind them, this person is savvy and has tangible skills which are what’s most important. A great eye for detail, the ability to multi-task and make quick, but informed decisions, is ideal. This person will have proven grading skills and be prepared to do what is required to get the job done, within reason!
You’ll be a positive person used to being in a team but able to work autonomously, have a strong work ethic, happy to undertake other tasks to meet the needs of the company, and physically fit to be able to meet this physically demanding work.
As part of our strong health and safety culture, we have random drug testing, and a satisfactory pre-employment drug and alcohol test result will be required.

Job Requirements
Prior experience as a Timber/Grader with experience of grading for the European, Asian, Australian and New Zealand markets Good communication skills both written and verbal Strong attention to detail Professional manner, with strong work ethic and approach in all aspects of daily engagement with all parties Ability to work with and contribute positively to a team but also able to work independently and autonomously with minimal guidance when required Self-motivated with a positive can-do attitude Strong problem-solving skills with perseverance and patience to resolve problems/issues Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and fluctuating workloads and work within specified deadlines/timeframes Clean NZ driving licence

- Monday to Thursday 6:30am to 5:00pm and Fridays 6:30am to 12:00Noon. (45 hours per week)
