Diesel Mechanic with Electrician Experience

A Lower Hutt Business are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic with experience in electrical systems to join their team. This position offers an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong background in both diesel mechanics and electrical work to contribute to our team and ensure the smooth operation of our equipment.

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing diesel engines and vehicles, as well as handling electrical components and systems as you will also be working on hybrid vehicles.

Key Responsibilities: • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment. • Perform repairs and replacements of diesel engine components and electrical systems. • Conduct routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks. • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, lighting systems, and fixtures. • Inspect and troubleshoot electrical components such as transformers and circuit breakers. • Ensure compliance with safety standards and electrical codes.

• Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic with expertise in electrical systems to work on hybrid vehicle systems. • Strong technical knowledge of diesel engines, electrical wiring, and components. • Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment for both mechanical and electrical repairs. • Familiarity with electrical codes and safety standards. • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Certification or relevant training in diesel mechanics and electrical work preferred. • Must have a Full Class 1 Drivers Licence.
