Our busy late night Irish pub requires a duty manager super star in the alpine village setting of Hanmer Springs - 90 minutes north of Christchurch. You will be integral part of our management team working closely with the General Manager. You must have a passion for hospitality, take pride in providing fantastic customer service and also have the drive to succeed in the hospitality sector. Front of house Reporting to: General Manager Duties include: Front of house training for new employees. Supervision of front of house employees ensuring they are offering exceptional customer service. Delegation of duties and ensuring the premise is kept to a presentable standard. Involvement in implementing premise policies. Supervision of efficiency and accuracy in taking orders from customers. Full compliance of all Health and Safety/Licence regulations and guidance. Encouragement of teamwork and motivation of employees. Resolution of customer complaints and issues. Responsibility for gaming room customers – including recognition of problem gambling. Responsible for the security of cash and tills. Any other duties required to ensure the seamless operation of our premise. As per the nature of our 7 day per week business all positions require a degree of flexibility as to hours required and may include nights and weekends. Accommodation is available for staff

Job Requirements

- Lead a small team in a busy late night venue. - Enjoy late nights, live music & busy weekends. - Strong knowledge of NZ cuisine and beverages. - Experience in senior/management roles preferred. - Advanced English. - Great communication skills. - A positive attitude. - Excellent leadership skills. - Be competent, reliable and eager to grow in this industry. - Ambition to learn. - A calm, efficient and effective approach when under pressure. - Managing customer feedback and complaints. Cash handling experience. - Extensive understanding of NZ sale and supply of alcohol laws. - Current Managers Certificate. - Current LCQ license is a MUST
