Preparation:
Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements. Set up and align formwork (molds) for the placement of concrete. Prepare and clean surfaces, ensuring they are free of debris and contaminants. Mixing and Pouring:
Mix concrete to the correct consistency, either by hand or using mixing equipment. Pour, spread, and level concrete using rakes, shovels, and trowels. Monitor the temperature, wind, and other environmental conditions to ensure proper curing of the concrete. Finishing:
Smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete, such as floors, walkways, roads, or curbs, using a variety of hand and power tools. Apply hardening and sealing compounds to cure surface. Monitor how the wind, heat, or cold affect the curing of the concrete throughout the entire process.
Job Requirements
• Minimum of 3+ years of hands-on experience in concrete work (Drilling and cutting) • Class 2, license will be ideal but not essential • Ability to pass pre-employment drug & alcohol check • Be physically fit and capable of handling the demands of the job.
