Support clients living in their homes, by delivering home management and personal care support as set out in the clients’ individual support plans.
Cadets will get their level 2 and level 3 Health and wellbeing qualifications over 2 years.
Range of clients who need support: • ACC • Disability • Aged Care • Medication oversee – not medication administering
Personal Care:
• Help with bathing client, hair care, transferring them to and from the shower/bath, un/dressing client. • Toilet assisting - urinary collection bags maintaining hygiene. • Assist safe mobility around the home. • Assist with eating. • Check that medication is being taken correctly. • Assist with transfer between bed and chair. • Help in the prevention of deteriorating health and enhance the client’s personal hygiene and general wellbeing. • Other responsibilities will be discussed once you have secured the role.
Home Management:
• Help with cleaning ensuring a high standard of cleanliness in the kitchen, bathroom, toilet, laundry and living areas and promoting the client’s personal comfort. • Assist to cook or prepare meals for clients who require assistance (where care plan permits). • Remain flexible to include additional negotiated tasks that have been agreed between the NASC Agency and Te Oranga Tautiaki . • Work to ensure the client maintains as high a level of independence as possible. • Ensure the clients daily nutritional needs are met. • Support the client to carry out shopping.
Job Requirements
To be considered:
• Full driver licence • Reliable vehicle, registered & warranted (must use their own vehicle to travel between clients homes, travel is paid for). • Must have no healthcare qualifications • Understanding of Tikanga Maori • Vaccinated 2 shots – international vaccination pass (shows dates) • Te Reo is not essential but is an advantage- basic knowledge of greetings etc. • Pass pre employment checks – Police vetting and working children vetting • Physically fit and able • Wanting a career as a support workers • 1 photo ID and 1 non photo ID
