Farm Maintenance Assistant

A school farm is needing an experienced maintenance assistant to join them on a full time basis. You will be required to work on a rostered basis over 7 days, for 40 hours per week, alongside other farm workers and supervisors. Your regular duties will include, but are not limited to; Conduct routine maintenance tasks on farm equipment, including tractors, plows, harvesters, and other machinery. Perform repairs on farm equipment as needed, including troubleshooting mechanical issues and replacing faulty parts. Assist with the maintenance and repair of farm buildings, fences, and other structures. Ensure that irrigation systems, pumps, and water supply infrastructure are functioning properly. Assist in the upkeep of farm roads and pathways, including grading, filling potholes, and clearing debris. Operate power tools and machinery safely and effectively. Monitor inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment parts, and assist in ordering as needed. Collaborate with other farm workers and supervisors to prioritize maintenance tasks and coordinate schedules. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment. Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, materials used, and equipment serviced.

Full class 1 drivers license. Pass on MOJ/Police check. 2-4 years previous experience, incl working mechanical knowledge.
