Assistant Herd Manager

We are looking for an Assistant Herd Manager to join our team. We milk 660 cows through a 44 bail rotary shed with ACR. Our farm is located in Scott’s Gap, between Otautau and Nightcaps- roughly 50 – 60 minutes from Invercargill and 30 minutes from Winton. We are looking for somebody with dairy farm experience and a passion for the dairy industry. We would love to support you if you want to grow in the industry and to take the next steps & would assist you with Primary ITO courses and building up animal numbers. We expect you not only to milk but to be involved in all dairy aspects. Accommodation is offered with a 3 bedroom home with wood burner. The house and farm are smoke free and dogs are not allowed on farm.
Job Requirements
You must be honest, reliable, have good time management skills, excellent communication skills, be willing to learn, have a minimum restricted driver’s licence, and pass pre-employment and random in job drug testing (routine and unannounced ones).

- 55 hours per week 5 on 2 off, then 6 on 1 off roster (55 hours per week)
