Farm Assistant (Dairy)

Milking Assist in efficient and hygienic milking routine. Do unsupervised vat wash and plant wash. Animals Animals health is our top priority. Assist in safe animal handling. Report any health and welfare issues as per farm policy. Feeding Set break fences and feed the cows as per contract milkers instructions and learn about feed allocation. Farm Maintenance Assist contract milker in farm Maintenance tasks such as fixing broken permanent fences, weed control, fixing farm races. Team work This is our key to success. You must be a team player who works well with other staff. Farm machinery Safely use farm machinery as directed by on farm policy. As most of our farm is hilly so you need to be confident on 2-wheeler, manual farm Ute as well as tractor as we do feed out in paddocks. Health and Safety Be involved in building safe work environment and follow the farms health and safety policy.

Candidate needs to have full driving license and must be able to work on weekends. Must have minimum 6 months New Zealand dairy farm experience including 1 calving and milking season. Needs to be drugs free and able to go through pre-employment drug test and police check. There will be random drug tests throughout the year. Farm has strict No Smoking or Vaping policy.
