About this job
Fabricates parts and assembles precut wooden doors for use in homes, trailers, or prefabricated buildings. Positions specified wood frame members in jig and nails or staples members together to form doorframe. Packs insulation between frame members. Cutting, shaping, and joining wood and other materials. Bends sheet metal to fit over doorframe, using handbrake. Attaches metal panels to doorframe, using hand tools or rivet gun. Working with a variety of tools, including hand tools, power tools, and machinery. Marks locations of window and lock on door, using templates, and cuts openings in door, using electric router or power shears. Installs lock assembly and prefabricated window assembly in door, using hand tools. Marks positions of hinges on door, using template, and screws hinges to doors, using screwdriver. Installing wooden fixtures such as cabinets or shelving units May attach metal and rubber weather stripping for exterior doors.
Job Requirements
Experienced carpenter with handyman skills. Minimum of 2-4 years of experience is a must. Previous experience in making & installation of wooden door frames. Full drivers licence is a must. Physically fit, reliable with a good attitude.
