A whanau-centric and kaupapa Maori organisation in Kawerau seeks a Peer Support worker to join the team to assist in ensuring families have a smooth transition into independence.

In this role you will implement peer support by advocating, mentoring and supporting their respective clients, Ensuring and demonstrating safe practice whilst advocating and mentoring whanau, Maintaining a workforce development approach to strengthen services.

Day-to-day tasks include assisting whanau in developing, implementing and evaluating Whanau Care Plans, actively participating in all activities that promote the development of best practice within the organisation, and providing accurate and up-to-date information to the Regional Lead.

Job Requirements

Pre-employment drug test and Ministry of Justice history check to be completed prior to starting Applicants must hold a full driver licence The ability to speak Te Reo Maori would be an advantage.
