Large Civil Construction Co is looking for experienced Machine Operators to join our North/West Auckland based team on our current projects. You’ll be working as part of an elite, high level team with one of New Zealand’s busiest and most successful complex earthworks/civil and infrastructure companies.

Job description: The role of Machine Operator/Laborer is to conduct machine operating and laboring activities supporting trade or contract staff on earthmoving and/or civil construction projects. The work includes, but is not limited to: • Safely operating heavy machinery to dig and or shift large volumes of earth. • Safely operating machinery and/or equipment to prepare sites for drains, civils and/or construction works. • Preparing sites to ensure optimization of project work
Job requirements: • For this role, you need to have a minimum of 2 years' experience operating one or more of the following: - Excavators (GPS experience advantageous) - Graders - Bulldozers - Compactors - Rollers - ADTs • Be able to work full time Monday - Friday, 12-hour days & 6-7 hours every Saturday • Be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test • Have the legal right to work in NZ
Ideally, we are looking for someone that is: • Mechanically inclined • Ability to work unsupervised with a positive work attitude • Willing and proactive in getting out of your machine to help on the ground as needed • Reliable and drug free, high work ethic • Understand safe work practices pertaining to an earthworks/civils environment • Knowledge of, or ability to learn, operations outside of general duties • Willing to assist with maintenance, clean-up and anything else that requires attention, as directed by the Site Supervisor or Manager
