Florist shop assistant

A florist business in Porirua Central is looking for a shop assistant to help cover busy hours. The role will initially be for Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, with the potential to extend to full days from Thursday to Sunday.
Responsibilities - Managing the flower shop independently for certain hours, including weekends - Providing excellent customer service for both in-person and phone enquiries - Assisting with inventory management, including lifting flower buckets when required - Being willing to learn and develop new skills
What We’re Looking For - A self-starter who can work independently without supervision - Some customer service experience is preferred but not essential - Flexibility to cover staff shortages at short notice - A driver’s licence is ideal (but not essential) to assist with occasional deliveries
About the Role This position will begin as a casual contract covering hours on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, with the potential to grow into more hours from Thursday to Sunday.
Job Requirements
- Ideally at least 6 months of customer facing experience - Willing to learn and continuously improve - Great work ethic - Able to commit to scheduled hours - Flexibility to take on additional shifts when needed
