The Foot Health Practitioner role will cover two main parts: - Assisting podiatrists with treatments, preparing rooms and ensuring equipment is ready for use. - Working towards a qualification you will learn on the job how to care for patients toe nails and skin yourself.
You must be ok with feet! Seeing feet touching feet and being around feet, you will see a lot of feet.
Our employer has clinics across Otago and currently a team of 7 podiatrists. They have seen significant growth in the demand for nail cutting and basic foot care. By recruiting someone into this role it will allow their podiatrists to concentrate on more complex feet while basic treatments are carried out by the Foot Health Practitioner.
The role will involve being registered on a course with occasional block training in the north island (travel paid). Course duration is approximately 1 year in length, most training will be done on the job.
We are looking for someone who has a genuine interest and gets enjoyment from working with older patients as some work will be carried out at rest homes / nursing homes.
Experience dealing with customers of all ages but also beauty or aged care would be helpful. You will possess a confident demeanour, be able to work independently and be happy chatting to people who you may not have met before. No prior direct experience required.

Job Requirements
- Pass a pre-employment criminal background check - Up to date presentable CV with two contactable references - Strong interpersonal skills - Presentable with friendly demeanour - Genuine interest in working with feet and helping people - Full drivers license. Class P would be advantageous but not necessary - Able to undertake paid travel 2-3 times a year (1-2 days per time) - Customer service skills and experience - Attention to detail
