Seeking experienced Hammerhands to join a team for a local business to work on various sites across Auckland mostly for residential work. This will entail new builds, renovations, extensions and relocations.
Roles and responsibilities will include:
- Operating power tools and equipment under the guidance of skilled tradespeople; - Handle and transport materials and equipment e.g. drills and grinders. - Use power tools and machinery if required. - Maintaining a clean and organized job site. - Familiar with setting out, measuring timber as per NZS3604, fixing wall framing to plates and studs, installing underlay or wrap for external cladding, assist in roof truss installation to ensure stability before final fixings, cutting or fitting framing components, under the guidance of the Site Supervisor. - Following safety procedures under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 on a construction site and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment including able to identify and report hazards on site. - Follow instructions from supervisors to perform manual labour tasks. - Put up warning signs on work sites. - Help with setting up and transferring temporary structures. - Report issues with equipment or unsafe conditions. - Clean up worksites from hazardous or obsolete material.
You will drive with your own vehicle directly to the site allocated closest to your home location.

Job Requirements
- Right to work in New Zealand - Able to pass pre-employment checks (medical if required), a drug test and MOJ check - Hold a New Zealand Full Driver Licence or Restricted Licence with own reliable transport to get to the sites. - Attention to detail with excellent hand-eye coordination. - Ability to meet the physical demands of the job and willing to perform repetitive tasks while sitting or standing for extended periods of time. - Able to heavy lift loads. Physically fit and able to assist Carpenters with day-to-day site tasks. - Minimum of 3-4 years of experience using construction tools and working on residential sites. - A basic understanding of construction processes and health & safety requirements. - Able to get along with others, communicate well with a great attitude. - Flexible, reliable and punctual to work.

- Monday to Friday 7.30am to 5.30pm (40 hours per week)
