Seeking Qualified Carpenters – Residential Work (Auckland-wide)
We are seeking qualified carpenters for residential work across Auckland. If you do not hold a formal qualification but have extensive experience in residential carpentry, we welcome your application.
You will be responsible for carrying out high-quality carpentry work while leading, supervising, and coordinating a small team to ensure residential construction projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
- You must be able to work independently and run site operations efficiently. - Strong knowledge of plans, framing, finishing and general carpentry works required..
Key Responsibilities: • Lead, guide and supervise a team of staff on site • Allocate daily tasks and manage workflow on site • Read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and council-approved plans • Accurately set out work and ensure correct levels, plumb, and alignment • Carry out and oversee framing, flooring, roofing, and structural carpentry • Install doors, windows, cladding, decking, internal fit-outs, and finishing work • Ensure all work complies with the NZ Building Code, consent requirements, and company standards • Monitor quality control and promptly rectify defects • Coordinate with site managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and inspectors • Train, mentor, and support apprentices and junior team members • Enforce Health & Safety policies, conduct toolbox talks, and complete site inductions • Identify hazards and ensure the safe use of tools and equipment • Manage materials and deliveries while minimising waste • Maintain a clean, organised, and professional worksite • Track progress against schedules and report delays or issues to management • Assist with problem-solving and on-site decision-making • Communicate effectively with clients when required • Complete basic site documentation and daily reports as required
This is a permanent, full-time position with long-term work available. Applicants must have their own tools; however, assistance may be considered for the right candidate. Hours could be from 40 to 50 hours a week depending on the workload.
Note only candidates with a minimum of 8-10 years experience in residential construction will be considered.

Job Requirements
- Right to work in New Zealand - New Zealand FULL Driver Licence - Able to pass pre-employment checks (medical if required), a drug test and a MOJ check - Physically fit - able to lift and move in a fast pace environment - Punctual to site and flexible with work tasks - Demonstrated supervisory experience for the requirements of the position - Strong leadership and communication skills - Sound knowledge of New Zealand construction practices and standards
