Southland/Southland: Our local employer is looking for 5 x Full-time Agriculture Machinery Operators to join our team in Balfour. The successful applicants will operate and maintain agricultural machinery involved in grass harvesting and cultivation and planting operations. The role includes working long hours during our busy season (Oct – March) and requires someone who is safety-conscious, mechanically minded, and capable of working both independently and positively within a team.
Duties include but are not limited to: • Confidently operate and maintain Agriculture Machinery: (For example: Forage Harvesters, Loaders, Tractors & Implements, 4 Rotor Swather Rakes, Triple Mowers, Balers, Trucks, Cultivation & Drilling equipment) • Diagnose and report mechanical issues promptly • Carry out daily machine checks and repairs as required • Assist with all operations involved with a positive attitude • Follow all health and safety procedures and company policies • Maintain accurate job and maintenance records • Work flexible hours including weekends during peak season
Days and hours: • Work Flexible hours including weekends during peak Season • This role offers 35 hours per week.
Pay Rate: $25.00 to $35.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Job Requirements
You must have the below prerequisites to be considered for this role:
• You must be able to pass a police check and pre-employment drug test, as part of the employment process. • Minimum 2 seasons experience operating heavy agricultural machinery or a trade qualification such as a Diesel Mechanic or Heavy Machine engineer. • Good mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting ability • Ability to work long hours in seasonal conditions • Strong communication and teamwork skills • Full driver Class 1 Licence required • Heavy Traffic Class 5 - Heavy combination vehicle licence advantageous • Commitment to workplace health and safety • Ability to pass random drug testing • Be able to provide references and employment history • Have a recent CV with contactable references
