Assistant manager

Our cafe is a popular, high profile and very busy establishment located at Tower Junction, Christchurch. We are currently looking for an experienced Assistant Manager to help facilitate our day-to-day operations and support our management team with a wide range of duties. You will be expected to, drive daily cafe operations, ensuring that orders are fulfilled quickly during peak hours; lead the front-of-house and kitchen staff, including helping train and mentor new staff, ensure high-quality food and coffee, assist with the preparation and serving of food and beverages deliver exceptional customer service; process payments using the cafe's POS system, ensure that the premises are clean, functional, and well-presented at all times; assist with staff scheduling and menu planning; manage inventory and food waste, with a focus on waste minimisation; resolve any customer complaints, take charge when the manager or owner is absent, and undertake any other duties as may be required from time to time.

The successful applicant will have at least 2 years of full-time hospitality experience and preferably a relevant tertiary qualification. You will need to be able to work well under pressure, work autonomously, be efficient and highly organised. Shifts are daytime only with early starts required. No evenings.
