Responsibilities: Provide a reassuring, visible presence in the hospital, fostering a sense of safety and wellbeing for all. Welcome and assist patients, visitors, and healthcare professionals with professionalism, empathy, and respect. Support staff in maintaining a secure environment, including monitoring entry points, visitor screening, and routine patrols of premises. Safely manage and de-escalate incidents or disruptions, responding to emergencies, alarms, and requests for assistance promptly. Accurately report and record incidents, health and safety hazards, and suspicious behaviour as required. Uphold company values, professional standards, and confidentiality at all times. Assist with health & safety compliance, site-specific procedures, and emergency response protocols.

Job Requirements

Previous 1- 2 years of security experience (doesn't need to be healthcare security) Hold a current Green Certificate of Approval (COA) or a Blue COA on a pathway to Green. A genuine interest in Healthcare Security and willing to commit to least 2 years in Healthcare Security. Pass all pre employment checks Reliable transport Holds a restricted or full licence Flexible availability – day, evening, overnight, and weekend shifts may be required shift hours and timings will be discussed at interview. Monday to Sunday Rostered

Candidate requirement: Eligibility to work in New Zealand and minimum of 18 years old. Mature, empathetic, and calm approach in sensitive and challenging situations Enthusiasm, cheerfulness and determination Excellent verbal communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills Reliable, trustworthy, and professional with a high standard of personal presentation Able to work collaboratively within a diverse team or independently when required Confident decision-making and strong problem-solving abilities Physically able to conduct patrols, assist with patient and staff needs, and respond quickly to emergencies, this is an active role
