Using your strong investigative and time management skills, you will plan and manage a busy and varied workload while reminding calm and professional under pressure. You will demonstrate empathy and professionalism teamed with outstanding customer service and investigation skills to achieve best outcomes.

You will also have opportunities to contribute to special projects, represent Council at meetings, and participate in judicial processes where required .

Job Requirements

Key requirements

* Minimum diploma or NZQA level 5 Certificate OR relevant experience in one or more of the following: Animal Welfare, Enforcement or Compliance with a strong investigative background .

* Proven ability to manage complex cases and prioritise workloads effectively * Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently at all levels * You will be mature, street savvy, demonstrated professionalism, resilience and show sound decision making in challenging situations * Technically proficient administering animal related legislation. * Experience handling dogs and live stock safely and competently. * Advocate to promoting responsible dog ownership. * A current full, clean driver's licence is essential. * Animal Management Officers work on a scheduled roster that includes after hours standby. * Having the ability to think on your feet, while making sound decisions for the community, being professional and demonstrating consistency when applying legislative requirements is a must.
