About us Mataitai Farm is in Clevedon, Auckland. The family-owned whenua is run by the Mataitai Farm Trust and is establishing a native nursery with seeds sourced from our own Ngahere. We engage with our local community and are working with others to restore the mauri of the Wairoa River to create lasting positive change for both the environment and for the community.

About the Role This role is perfect for someone who enjoys both office-based work and hands-on site involvement. a skilled and dedicated Nursery Operational Leader who will play a critical role in our nursery operations. You'll be responsible for establishing all the hands-on horticultural tasks (from propagation to dispatch), purchasing/application/storing of agrichemicals, and maintaining a productive nursery environment to ensure high-quality plant production.

Key Responsibilities • All project documentation. • Planning, scheduling, and coordinating project activities. • Maintain project records, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and well-organized. • Utilize IT tools effectively for reporting, tracking, and communication. • Develop efficient procurement, supplier coordination, and logistical planning. • Manage the project to agreed timeframes and within budget • Create and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets. • Communicate with clients, contractors, and trust members. • Identify potential project risks and assist in problem-solving. • Support the Nursery Operations Lead.

Job Requirements

Key Skills & Experience: Strong practical skills Excellent IT proficiency A good understanding of project business terminology and commercial acumen. Highly organized with great attention to detail. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Full, valid drivers license is required. Team player

Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in project administration, nursery or environmental restoration field. Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools is a plus. Physical fitness for manual labour in various weather conditions Understanding of Matauranga Maori

20 hrs pwk to start will soon increase to 35 hours per week (20 hours per week)
