Sales Representative (Auto Parts Interpreter)

About this job This local business is a leading supplier of aftermarket automotive parts and accessories across New Zealand and Australia. As part of a well established and growing Hamilton branch, they are seeking a Sales Representative with a strong interest in automotive parts to join their team.

This role combines customer service, technical parts interpretation and sales support in a busy trade environment. You will work closely with trade customers, workshops and internal teams to identify and supply the correct parts, build relationships and support sales growth.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with an interest in the automotive industry who wants to develop their product knowledge, customer skills and sales capability in a supportive team environment.

List of Tasks include: - Respond to customer enquiries via phone, email and at the trade counter. - Interpret customer requests and identify the correct automotive parts using catalogues and computer systems. - Provide advice and recommendations on parts, products and solutions. - Process orders, prepare invoices and ensure accurate data entry. - Follow up enquiries and convert leads into sales opportunities. - Build and maintain strong relationships with trade customers. - Coordinate stock availability, special orders and transfers between branches. - Handle customer returns, credits and warranty enquiries. - Support stock control, stocktakes and inventory accuracy. - Work collaboratively with warehouse and delivery teams to ensure timely supply of parts. - Maintain a clean, organised and professional workspace.

Previous experience in automotive parts, mechanical trades or customer service is preferred but not essential. Full training will be provided for the right candidate.

Must be confident communicating with customers, able to solve problems and comfortable working in a fast-paced trade environment.

Job Requirements -Strong customer service and communication skills -Ability to understand and learn automotive parts and systems -Good attention to detail and accuracy when processing orders -Confident using computer systems and databases -Ability to multitask and work under pressure -Previous sales or customer service experience preferred -Automotive knowledge or mechanical interest is a strong advantage -Must pass a pre employment drug test and Ministry of Justice check -Must have reliable transport -Must hold a Class 1 drivers licence (Full preferred)
