Responsibilities include; Leadership & Daily Operations

Lead teams of Registered Seasonal Employees and or contractors to complete daily tasks accurately, efficiently, and on time.

Set clear expectations, monitor performance, and maintain a positive, motivated work environment. Execute daily and weekly work plans, providing timely feedback to the Orchard Manager on progress, timing, and any emerging issues.

Maintain accurate records of daily work to support cost effective operations, planning, reporting, and compliance.

Work closely with the Orchard Manager with daily operations and resource coordination, making operational adjustments when required.

Train staff to the employer's standards and monitor productivity to meet time and quality targets.

Orchard Knowledge and Maintenance

Apply a basic understanding of GAP, Good Agricultural Practice, plant management, and plant and soil health.

Support frost protection activities when required.

Assist Orchard Managers in developing and improving systems and processes to enhance orchard operations. Health and Safety

Take responsibility for Health and Safety on site, including participating in toolbox meetings, Job Safety Analyses, incident reporting, and hazard identification.

Ensure all staff and contractors are correctly inducted and understand safety expectations.

Other Duties Actively support each other. As part of this position, you may be required to complete tasks outside of your normal responsibilities. This may include work in other teams across the business.

Job Requirements

What you’ll bring 4 to 6 years’ experience in the kiwifruit industry. Experience supervising people and teams. A genuine interest in horticulture through study or personal passion. Clear, confident communication skills with the ability to give and follow direction. A proven record of reliability and punctuality. A valid driver’s licence and reliable transport.
