We are seeking two motivated and reliable Dairy Farm Assistants to join our team. We are looking for those who have experience in dairy farming and are looking to further training and development. This diary farming opportunity is suited to individuals who are physically fit, willing to learn, and interested in developing a career in dairy farming. Full training is provided.
Key Responsibilities - Assist with feed planning and pasture management - Support weed and pest control programmes - Apply fertiliser and assist with irrigation systems - Carry out milking duties, ensuring plant hygiene and milk quality standards (including somatic cell count targets) - Operate and maintain the farm effluent system in line with regional council compliance requirements - Maintain accurate effluent and farm records - Implement animal health programmes - Assist with calving, wintering, and calf rearing to ensure minimal losses and high-quality herd replacements - Monitor livestock and report any animal health concerns - Maintain herd and production records - Support the Dairy Farm Manager in achieving farm business goals - Assist with general farm maintenance including machinery, plant, and infrastructure repairs

Job Requirements
Essential Requirements - Must hold a current, valid full driver licence - Physically fit and capable of working in a hands-on outdoor role - Willingness to learn and follow instructions - Reliable and able to meet roster requirements (12 days on / 2 days off) - Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and in all weather conditions - Must pass a pre-employment drug test - Must pass a Ministry of Justice (criminal record) check
Experience - An interest in dairy farming with experience required. - Must be reliable and able to handle the rigors of dairy farming.
Personal Attributes - Positive attitude and strong work ethic - Ability to work both independently and as part of a team - Good communication skills - Attention to detail, especially regarding animal health and hygiene standards - Commitment to animal welfare and farm safety practices
Additional Considerations - Applicants must be able to reliably commute or be willing to relocate to Kerikeri - Drive-in applicants must demonstrate consistent ability to meet roster commitments
