About this job

Data Collection role is a fixed term part time contract for Stats NZ. You will be working in the Palmerston North region and the role involves field based involving regular travel and primarily face to face interviewing with some phone and email work as needed. You will engage with communities and households in Palmerston North across varied days and hours, including mornings, afternoon/early evenings and weekends. The role requires a reasonable level of fitness due to frequent walking and driving. You will work remotely and must be self-managing with reliable internet, a full NZ drivers licence and a roadworthy, insured vehicle. Mandatory travel based in Auckland for initial training ( Statistics Building) 10th August - Friday 14th August (9am to 5pm) .

Job Requirements

This role may suit someone who can bring: previous experience working with the Statistics Department or 2+ years customer service experience, strong communication and interpersonal skills with customer focus, very confident using Microsoft 365, digital systems and date entry skills and able to learn new tech quickly. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends to suit respondents.

Days of work
Guaranteed 37.5 hours per fortnight. Hours can be scheduled between 6:00am and 8:30pm, Sun through Sat (18 hours per week)
