Applications are invited for a range of seagoing positions aboard modern factory freezer trawlers operating within the New Zealand Exclusive Economic Zone throughout 2026.
Opportunities are available across marine, engineering, factory, deck, and catering departments, including:

Successful applicants must be prepared to join the vessel at its home port in Lyttelton and be ready for deployment. Contracts are six months in duration, with voyages typically lasting between 4–6 weeks at sea, followed by limited turnaround time ashore between trips.
These roles offer the opportunity to work in a fast-paced offshore environment as part of a professional and experienced crew operating within New Zealand waters.
Job Requirements
Previous deep-sea fishing experience is preferred; however, applicants with transferable skills, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn may also be considered.

The operator also offers sponsored entry-level training opportunities for suitable applicants interested in pursuing a career in the deep-sea fishing industry. This intensive live-in training programme is designed to prepare candidates for work at sea and follows a roster similar to onboard vessel operation Applicants who successfully complete the training programme will progress through the operator’s standard employment and assessment process. Eligibility for sponsorship and further consideration will depend on a range of factors, including a willingness to undertake additional industry training as required by the operator.

- Contract period is six months. Each voyage is for 4 to 6 weeks in duration with limited time ashore during port turnarounds. (40 hours per week)
