Warehouse Assistant/ Storeperson

A local Indian grocery store known for stocking extensive Indian and South Asian Groceries is looking for two full time store and warehouse assistants based in Invercargill. These positions are 40 hours per week and you will have a six day roster, Tuesday to Sunday. There will be full and half days including some evening work.

The Employee will undertake the following duties: • Have good organisation and communication skills • Moving the goods to the correct area in the warehouse, either manually or using mechanical handling equipment • Maintaining the warehouse in a tidy state and clearing away packing material and debris • Replenishing shelves on the shop floor as and when required • Keeping shelves stocked and looking great for our customers • Cleaning work space and/or shop floor and gathering shopping carts in and around the parking lot • Working quickly and efficiently to complete yours and your team's daily goals • Work will involve walking, bending, lifting medium to heavy loads, usage of tools and/or operating equipment • Carrying out any other work given by supervisor / manager • Ability to work independently when required • Follow a roster system for agreed upon shift timings and number of hours per week. * Minimum of one year relevant experience * Physically fit for lifting products up to 20 -25 kgs. ie. Bulk rice. * Good knowledge of spices and Indian Language would be beneficial but not necessary * Able to pass Ministry of Justice Check - no convictions * Able to pass pre-employment drug test * Able to work roster of work which includes Tuesday to Sunday hours and some evenings
