Class 4/5 Operator

We are seeking experienced and motivated Class 4 or Class 5 Operator/Drivers to join a hardworking team operating hydro excavation and jetting trucks in the Canterbury region. This is a hands-on labour and driving role, not solely a driving position. Full training will be provided to the successful applicants.

This is a permanent full-time opportunity offering competitive hourly rates based on licence class and experience. Standard working hours are typically Monday to Friday, however flexibility is required for early starts, night work, weekend work, and participation in an on-call roster once fully trained.

The role involves operating specialised hydro excavation and jetting equipment safely and efficiently while delivering high-quality service to clients across a variety of worksites. Occasional travel within the South Island may also be required.

Key Responsibilities: -Operate hydro excavation, vacuum, and jetting trucks safely and efficiently -Carry out daily pre-start checks, vehicle inspections, and required documentation -Maneuver heavy vehicles and plant equipment into position on client sites -Perform vacuum loading, hydro excavation, water blasting, and jetting tasks as required -Ensure all equipment and vehicles are maintained and operated to a high safety standard -Complete yard duties and general labouring tasks when required -Follow all health and safety procedures and site-specific requirements -Work collaboratively with team members to complete projects efficiently -Provide professional service and maintain positive client relationships on site -Participate in after-hours and weekend on-call rosters once trained -Travel occasionally throughout the South Island for project work

-Minimum 1 year’s truck driving experience as a Class 4 or Class 5 driver and a NZ class 4 / 5 Driver’s License or overseas equivalent. -Positive attitude and the willingness to learn -High level of communication, collaboration, and time management skills -Personal transport to Harewood -Ability to pass a MOJ and pre employment drug test -An up to date CV
