About this job

This is an entry level opportunity to gain experience in the port logistics industry. Previous experience in this type of role is not required as full training is provided. Opportunities to grow and progress to other roles are potentially available to those with the right attitude and aptitude.

The Checkpoint is a facility where logging trucks come to have their logs measured and ticketed ready for export. The Log Scaler barcodes each log and then “scales” or measures each log to an international standard using scanning equipment that records the details so that every single log can be tracked wherever it is.

The Checkpoint is a team environment where the safety of our staff is paramount. Shifts can be up to 12 hours in length and are Monday to Friday between the hours of 0400am and 1900pm when we are open for processing trucks. There is a guaranteed minimum number of hours per month. We also work some weekends on a rostered basis. Ultimately, we are looking for staff who can be a bit flexible with the hours they work.
