About this job

Winter kiwifruit orchard workers are required on a fixed term basis in the Te Puke area (mainly Number 4 Road) commencing June to August approximately. Duties include pruning Gold and Green kiwifruit vines, removing unwanted growth, tying canes, and helping prepare orchards for the 2027 season.

This work involves being on your feet and working above head and shoulders height for long periods of time therefore a good level of fitness is required.

For health and safety reasons, closed footwear must be worn on-orchard – gumboots are suitable.

Tools are provided by the employer.

You will be on your feet and working above head and shoulders height for long periods of time.

This work is weather dependant with up to 5 to 6 days of work available. Closed footwear must be worn on orchard – gumboots and sneakers are suitable. Tools are provided by the employer. Training is provided.

You will be required to have secured accommodation within daily distance to the Te Puke area prior to applying.

Job Requirements

Physically fit Horticulture knowledge Zero tolerance for drug impairment Minor convictions considered - this excludes any serious assault as well as sexual convictions and burglary / theft. Require minimum of restricted drivers licence if transporting self.

Employer may offer work from Monday to Sunday between 7:30 am to 6 pm - weather dependent. (30 hours per week)
