A skilled and proactive Engineer is required to join a local sawmill operations team. The Sawmill Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, optimisation, and continuous improvement of all mechanical and electrical systems within the sawmill. This role involves troubleshooting equipment, ensuring efficient production processes, implementing safety and quality standards, and supporting capital improvement projects. The employer offers full-time stable employment and variety of work across a large industrial site in a supportive team environment.
Job Requirements
Key Responsibilities: Monitor and optimise sawmill equipment and systems for maximum efficiency and productivity.
Design, implement, and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
Collaborate with production teams to reduce downtime and improve operational efficiency.
Assist in the planning and execution of capital projects, including upgrades and new equipment installations.
Ensure compliance with all environmental, safety, and quality regulations.
Analyze equipment failures and propose engineering solutions to prevent recurrence.
Maintain detailed documentation of maintenance activities, technical issues, and modifications.
Provide training and technical support to maintenance and production staff.
- Days of work
- 8 to 5.30pm Monday to Friday ( Earlier finish on a Friday) (40 hours per week)
